Ladder & Step Ladder Awareness Training Course
Course Aim:
The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to use ladders and step ladders safely in the workplace
Objectives:
On completion of this course, participants will:
Have an awareness of Legislation including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations, 2007, Part 4 (Working at Heights)
Be familiar the requirements for use of ladders, step ladders and work platforms
Be able to inspect and select ladders and step ladders suitable for work activities
Have an awareness of the requirements for Roof Work / Fragile surfaces and Edge Protection
Know the control measures required to control the risks associated with the use of Ladders and Step Ladders.

Introduction

Ladder Safety
Risk Assessment
Selection and Inspection of Ladders and Work Platforms
Openings / Edge Protection

Care & Storage of the Ladders
Who should attend?
All personnel involved with the use selection, maintenance and inspection of Ladders and Step Ladders in the workplace
Assessment:
Participants are required to complete a written assessment on completion of the course
Certification:
Participants will receive certification of attendance on completion of the course.
